The Schleicher K8 is a 1950s single seat glider. The aircraft is designed as a mixed-construction high-wing aircraft. Due to its robust construction, the K 8 was and is mainly used for training beginners. A total of 1212 aircraft of the type were manufactured in different versions. The aircraft of the type K 8 are increasingly being replaced by gliders in plastic construction. Nevertheless, the pattern is enjoying increasing popularity among friends of historic gliding, partly because of the low purchase price and the ease of repair. Aircraft of this type are still present in many gliding clubs for the same reasons.


The model impresses with its construction completely in wood and its unique flight pattern. It is easy to steer and easy to fly even in medium winds.
