Here your dream gets wings ... With the ASW 17 we offer a semi-scale glider in the scale 1: 5.7
The original was developed in the 1970s as a further development of the ASW 12. The aircraft then went into series production using fully composite material technology. With a wingspan of 3.50 m and a take-off weight of around 4300g, our model is an absolute feast for the eyes. Here, low-wing pilots who are enthusiastic about towing and ambitious slope pilots get their money's worth. Thermal and speed? Our ASW 17 can do that!
The wings and tail units are made of full carbon. The hull is made of glass fiber / carbon / aramid mixed construction, as is usual with our scalers, to ensure maximum durability over a long period of time. With this layup, the daily harder landings on the slope are no problem for this model. The ASW 17 also feels very comfortable in cozy aerobatics. Pick up speed, a nice long loop, then a smooth roll and then for the final approach to the slopes.
We recommend using Butterfly for the landing and additionally using the spoilers. This combination offers excellent braking and descending effects without the model becoming critical in handling. Due to the well-dimensioned rudder, the model has a very direct response.
